ISO 50001:2018 Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use
The International Standard ISO 50001 focuses on supporting organizations in their efforts to establish systems and processes necessary for better energy performance including energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption. Implementation of this standard helps reducing environmental impact, caused by greenhouse gas and emissions. It intends to help lowering energy related expenses, by means of systematic energy management. ISO 50001 is applicable to all organizations regardless of their type, size or activity.
ISO 50001 points out the specific requirements, applicable to energy use and energy consumption, including monitoring, documenting, reporting, planning and purchasing of equipment, human resources, etc. which improve energy performance.
